The Fairbanks Racing Lions has a long history of serving in the Interior. Since 1986, the Racing Lions has promoted motorsports safety and provided a fun and educational environment for racing. Our commitment to the community extends far beyond the racetrack. Since our founding, we have returned approximately $500,000 to the community through donations to families in need of assitance with medical expenses, support of youth sports and donations to other Interior non-profits.

Despite our diverse contributions to Fairbanks, we have not lost sight of our original goal: to make racing a safe and fun past time for our community and keep racing off public streets.

Prior to the attacks on 9/11, Fairbanks Racing Lions had hosted numerous racing events on Fort Wainwright. The changing security restrictions have limited that access frequency. We have been diversifying our race participation in the last decade; we have sponsored and participated in numerous racing events around the Interior, including drag racing in North Pole and snowmachine racing in Fairbanks.

Fairbanks Racing Lions, Inc. has secured all of the property necessary, 175 acres, to built the Lions Motorsports Complex.  FRL has obtained all permits and are currently working to remove the utility easement running through the property.  Once that easement is vacated, we would be ready to proceed with the next phase of construction.

Of course building a motorsports park will cost millions of dollars and years to complete.  It is no small task.  Once construction begins, FRL will be charged a ,000 a month for the Wetlands Permit issued by the Corp. of Engineers. The total cost of this permit is 0,000.  This payment is in addition to our land payments and construction costs.  C FRL is currently funded by gaming and donations from other organizations.

FRL is working on obtaining 501c3 status to allow us to apply for public funds, grants and other financial sources offered to non-profit organizations with that IRS designation.

Our group is dedicated to creating a motorsports complex.  In addition to drag racing and other racing activities, we want a safe environment to teach our children how to drive, a place to give the youth of the Fairbanks area something constructive to do all year around.  A location for drivers training for school buses, fire trucks and other safety vehicles.  This will be a facility built by the community for the community.  We believe in this project and will continue to work towards our goal. In the meantime, we have planned some FUNraisers to have some fun and provide some great activities for Fairbanks.
